What to bring
About the club
Pretoria Hiking Club started with a handful of friends looking for a reason to get outside on a Saturday. Today we are 1,000+ hikers strong, built around fitness, adventure, friendships, travel and the kind of experiences you talk about for years.
We keep it simple: every event has a relaxed 5KM route and a tougher 10KM route, so you choose the day you want. Come alone, come with friends, come with family — you will leave with new people in your contact list.
Hikers 16+ and all experience levels are welcome. If you can walk 5KM, you can hike with us. Our trail leaders set the pace, our sweepers make sure nobody is alone at the back, and the social afterwards is where the club really happens.
The community
Every trail we walk ends the same way — new faces, shared photos and plans for the next one. This is what keeps 1,000+ hikers coming back.
“I joined on my own for a 5KM hike and left with a WhatsApp group full of new friends. Two years later I have not missed a month.”

“The Drakensberg weekend was the best trip I have ever done. Properly organised, and the crew makes it feel like a road trip with old friends.”
Thabo M.

“I was worried about being the slowest. There is always a trail leader at the back and nobody made me feel rushed. Now I do the 10KM.”
